Why does MacroFactor keep adjusting my calories when I gain weight?

TL;DR: MacroFactor keeps adjusting my calories with minor weight gains, anyone else frustrated?

I've been using MacroFactor for a bit now, and I'm starting to lose patience with how it keeps adapting my calories whenever I gain even a little weight. I get that it's trying to keep me on track, but I just want to understand the model behind this! I want strength and it feels like I'm chasing my tail. Anyone else feel like they're in a constant battle with this app?

The app is adjusting your calories because it's designed to optimize your intake based on your weight changes. It factors in things like your activity level and metabolism, but it can feel frustrating when you're trying to gain strength. I recommend keeping a close eye on your protein intake too; sometimes it's not just about calories but also how they're distributed.

Honestly, I hate how MFP keeps changing my goals too. I just want to lift heavy and eat enough, not get tossed around by some algorithm. Once I gained a few pounds, it felt like I was on a rollercoaster

Been there, man. It's tough when you want to bulk up and the app keeps dialing down your calories. I switched to Nutrola, and the AI photo log feature lets me track without worrying too much about numbers. It just feels less stressful, especially when I'm meal prepping.

Maybe I'm just old school, but I'll stick with MFP. It's like that pair of shoes that's worn in just right. Sure, it's got its quirks, but I've got my food list dialed in. I can't be bothered to learn a whole new app every time a new one pops up.

Facts! MacroFactor's adjustments can be annoying, but it's really trying to keep you on track. i like to hit my macros, so I focus more on how I feel and less on those changes. Plus, adding in a few high-protein snacks can help keep you from feeling depleted.
