Lifesum dropped meal plans this week, where am I going next?

I find myself at a crossroads in my fitness journey, one that many of you might also resonate with. Lifesum has been my guiding light, helping me navigate the vast ocean of nutrition and meal planning for quite some time. However, the recent removal of meal plans has left me feeling adrift, questioning where to turn next. Meal plans were not just a tool for me; they were a sanctuary, providing structure amidst the chaos of daily life. Without them, I feel an unsettling void.

I briefly dabbled with Cronometer, drawn by its reputation for accuracy, but it didn't quite align with my zen approach to fitness. I found myself overwhelmed by its intricate tracking features, feeling as if I was more of a data analyst than a lifter. There's a fine balance in this journey, where mindfulness should coexist with practical tracking, and Cronometer tipped that scale for me. I long for an app that harmonizes meal planning with the simplicity of awareness, something that Lifesum so artfully provided.

So here I am, seeking wisdom from this community. Are there any other apps that offer robust meal planning features without the incessant need to dive into a labyrinth of data? I yearn for something that respects the art of mindful eating while offering guidance, not just numbers. Where do you all find solace in this ever-changing landscape of fitness apps? What have been your personal experiences? I'm genuinely looking for direction as I embark on this next chapter.

man, I feel you. Lifesum was my go-to for meal planning too. I tried MyFitnessPal, but honestly, I felt like a walking spreadsheet trying to log my food. Gimme a plate of pizza and some carbs any day

If you're looking for something that balances mindfulness with tracking, MacroFactor might be worth a shot. The algorithm adapts to your needs without being overwhelming. I switched from MFP and honestly, the fact that it auto-adjusts your targets based on your progress feels less like a chore and more like a guide. Plus, it's a lot cheaper than MFP's paywall nonsense.

MFP can be a hot mess lately, like why are they charging for everything? I'm sick of tracking calories only to find I have to pay for the good stuff. Just saying, if you want a simpler approach, you might want to steer clear of MFP.

I had the same issue with Cronometer. Love the accuracy but felt like I needed a PhD just to log a meal. MyFitnessPal was decent, but now it's just a money grab. I recently tried Nutrola, and honestly, the photo logging made my life easier. No more typing out meals when I'm half asleep.

I get that meal plans can be a lifesaver. I've tried a bunch of apps, and I ended up using Nutrola. The voice logging feature works great when I'm juggling my kids and trying to eat healthy. It saves me so much time, and the database has a lot of options.

Honestly, the tracking burnout is real. I used MFP for ages but felt so stressed about logging every bite. Tried Nutrola's AI-photo logging, but I still sometimes miss the simplicity of just writing it down. It's good for those busy days though. Just gotta find the balance.
