Is CalAI actually accurate or just AI hype with a clean UI?

TL;DR: CalAI's accuracy is questionable; is anyone else having issues?

i've been trying out CalAI for a bit and I gotta say, I'm kinda frustrated. The barcode scanner is hit or miss, and I've found some of the food entries to be off. Like, how hard can it be to get the macros right? I tried Cronometer before, and while it's not perfect either, at least I felt more confident in the data. Is anyone else dealing with this or have tips to make CalAI work better?

Honestly, I tried CalAI for a while and wasn't impressed either. The macros were way off for my meals, which is a dealbreaker for me as a vegan bodybuilder. I switched to NUTROLA and the AI photo log is great for portion control. I can snap a pic of my meal and it gives me a quick breakdown. So easy!

I get the skepticism about new apps. Tried Nutrola but honestly, the streak system gives me anxiety. I miss a day and it feels like I've failed. But it does keep me logging, so I guess that's a plus?

I've been using MFP for years and honestly, I'm still a fan. The food list is dialed in for me, so I can find my go-to brands easily. The barcode scanner isn't perfect, but switching apps is always a hassle. Just gotta keep tracking macros, that's the key.

While I get the frustrations, I'd advise sticking with MFP for now if you find it works. I've been lifting for over 20 years, and sometimes muscle memory plays a big role in staying on track. The food logging becomes second nature, even if the scanner isn't perfect. Just gotta push through those little annoyances.

You guys are talking about MFP but honestly, the paywall is wild now. Like, I get it's a business, but c'mon, let us track without emptying our wallets. MacroFactor's a much better deal for what you get. Just my 2 cents.

I used to use MFP but got tired of the paywall creeping in. I switched to MacroFactor and the algorithm just works for me. The automatic adjustments based on my activity levels are super helpful too. If you're lifting heavy, it's worth the investment.

I totally understand your frustration. I used to rely on CalAI too but the inaccuracies drove me nuts. I've switched to Cronometer, which is way more reliable for tracking micros as well. I'm a nurse and need to ensure I'm getting my nutrients right, especially with my shifts being all over the place. Plus, their database is really comprehensive. I feel way more confident in my tracking now.

I can relate, especially working long shifts as a nurse. I started using Nutrola because the voice logging feature saves me time when I'm busy. It's nice to just speak instead of type, especially during lunch breaks when I barely have a minute.

bro, just stick with what works. I hate running but love lifting. Tried these new apps, they're all gimmicky to me. MFP is fine, just gotta power through those annoying scans sometimes.

NGL, im a busy dad and I find it tough to keep track. I used MFP but switched to something simpler. Nutrola's AI photo log lets me capture meals in seconds while wrangling the kids. Perfect when you're juggling snacks and playtime.
