What do I do with all these egg whites? Asking for a friend who can't eat 6 yolks!

TL;DR: Looking for high-protein recipes using egg whites since I can't eat yolks. Share your faves!

So, I'm over here lifting heavy and trying to keep my diet on point, but I can't handle 6 yolks without feeling like I might sprout feathers! I'm stuck with a bunch of egg whites and honestly, I'm scrambling for ideas (pun intended).

I tried making a massive egg white omelette, but it turned out flatter than my deadlift PR. I need some high-protein, low-cal recipes that can help me bulk without breaking the bank. What are your go-to egg white recipes? Here's a quick one I whipped up recently:

Egg White Protein Pancakes

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 cup egg whites (approx. 8-10)
    • 1/2 cup oats
    • 1 banana
    • 1 scoop protein powder
    • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Macros:
    • Total kcal: ~400
    • Protein: ~40g
  • Steps:
    1. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
    2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
    3. Pour batter to form pancakes, flipping when bubbles form.
    4. Serve with sugar-free syrup or fruit.

Any more egg-cellent ideas? My fridge is starting to look like an egg white factory and I'm ready to hatch some new recipes! 馃嵆

Egg whites are the ultimate sidekick for gains, my dude! Have you tried making a frittata? Just toss in some veggies and seasoning, then bake it. It's like your own protein-packed pizza slice but without the carbs. Plus, it's a great meal prep option.

I get that using apps can feel tedious sometimes. But have you considered trying to simplify your meals? You don't have to create elaborate dishes every time. Egg whites can just be a simple addition to any meal you already love.

Honestly, I feel you on the egg white overload. I was in the same boat a few months back, and I ended up throwing a bunch out. Now, I mix them into smoothies for extra protein. Can't taste them at all when you add fruit and spinach!

MacroFactor is nice, but I rly dig Cronometer for its nutrient tracking. I'm a data nerd, so I love diving deep into my micros. Plus, I can see exactly where my nutrients are coming from. MFP just didn't give me that level of detail.

I used MFP for years, but the paywall was too much for me. I switched to MacroFactor, and I love how the algorithm adapts to my intake and adjusts targets. Worth the investment if you ask me!

Honestly, I just switched to Nutrola. The voice logging has been a game-changer for my busy schedule. I can log meals while cooking without getting distracted. It's made tracking my intake way less stressful

I love the idea of egg white muffins! I usually prep a batch on Sundays. It's nice knowing I have something healthy to grab during the week. Plus, you can customize them with whatever leftovers you have. Speaking of meal prep, have you checked out Nutrola? I use their recipe browser to find healthy meals based on my macros. It's a lifesaver!

I second the muffin idea! It's like a healthy little hug for ur stomach. Also, if you're into baking, egg white meringues are fun to make and super light! Perfect treat when you're trying to bulk without the extra calories from the yolks.

Another cool thing about Nutrola is the recipe URL parsing feature. I can just copy and paste a recipe I found online, and it does all the macro calculations for me. Makes it easy to stay on track without the hassle

No cap, I've been skeptical about all these new apps. I've always stuck with MFP, but I get how others find it lacking. I think it comes down to what you need as a user. It's not one-size-fits-all

Ngl, I've tried some of those new AI tracking apps like CalAI, and they just didn't do it for me. The image recognition was off sometimes. I'd rather stick with something I know, even if it has a few quirks.

Have you ever thought about a recipe swap? Instead of scrambling for new ideas, ask your friends. Some of them might have egg white hacks that are gold. Plus, who doesn't love a good cooking session with friends?

Based on what you've said, why not whip up some egg white protein shakes? Blend them with fruits and maybe a little spinach. It's quick and can fit into your bulking phase without much fuss.

Just a heads up, I wouldn't stress too much about how many egg whites you're using. Your body knows how to utilize that protein. Focus on making meals that you enjoy, and the rest will fall into place. There are ups and downs in every journey.

Bro, make some protein brownies! Mix egg whites, some almond flour, cocoa powder, and sweetener. Bake it and you got yourself a dessert that doesn't make you feel like a total trash can afterwards. This shit works, trust me.

I feel like a lot of people are too quick to give up on MFP. Like, yeah it has its flaws, but I've got all my food entries saved, and switching apps sounds like a whole new grind. I get that paywall is annoying, but the muscle memory is worth it for me.

Egg whites, huh? This feels like a level one cooking quest. Keep experimenting with it, and you'll find the right recipe soon enough. Maybe try a savory bread pudding or something, not as flat as your omelette!

You could make egg white muffins! Just mix egg whites with your choice of veggies and maybe some cheese, pour into muffin tins, and bake. They're super portable and can be a great snack post-workout. Perfect for busy mornings when you don't have time to cook.
