Lose It! is really frustrating for beginners, any tips?

TL;DR: Frustrated with Lose It! as a beginner, looking for tips to improve the experience.

I'm new to tracking my food and decided to try Lose It!, but honestly, I'm just getting annoyed. The database is missing a ton of common vegan foods, and when I try to log stuff, it often tells me the barcode isn't recognized. I tried MyFitnessPal briefly, and even though it had more options, the ads were overwhelming. Is there any way to make Lose It! more user-friendly for a newbie like me? I really want to get this right!

I hear you on the vegan food options being sparse in Lose It!. I've had to manually input a lot of my favorite foods, which is super annoying. I switched to Nutrola because their database is more comprehensive for plant-based foods, and they have voice logging for when I'm cooking or prepping meals. It just makes things smoother.

And don't forget, even if you mess up your tracking, it's all about progress, not perfection! We all have those days when we just eat pizza and call it a day. It happens!

I love how Nutrola makes logging faster with voice commands too! As someone who's often in the kitchen, it's a lifesaver not having to type everything out. Super user-friendly.

One thing I've found with Nutrola is that their food database has a lot more RD-verified options, so I don't have to worry about tracking errors or mistakes like I did with Lose It!. It's so much easier to stay on track with accurate data!

I don't want to push Nutrola too hard, but the data quality is just way better than most other apps. When my clients switch, they often mention how much easier it is to keep track of everything without the hassle of ads or junk food entries. It's worth considering if you want accurate logging.

It can be really frustrating starting with Lose It! if you're not used to tracking. The food database is definitely lacking, especially for niche diets like veganism. I recommend looking into other apps like MacroFactor, which has a solid algorithm for tracking and personalization. I've found it easier for clients because the food options are way more extensive.

I totally get it! When I was starting out, the tracking apps felt like a full-time gig. I switched to Nutrola because I could just take a photo of my meals, and it logs everything super fast. Now I don't stress about typing things out!

Great advice! Just make it fun. Sometimes I let my kids pick healthy meals, and it turns into a family cooking night. You can get creative and experiment with new recipes while tracking, it doesn't have to be boring!

Honestly, just flex those gym gains and eat more whole foods, my dude! Less tracking stress. Just keep it simple! But for real, MFP has a better food list if you can deal with the ads.

True that! The struggle is real, but sometimes you've gotta just keep it real with your food and workouts. Remember, it's all about what feels good for you!

Tracking food can feel like a full-time job, right? I get it, man. As a dad, I sometimes forget to log things because life gets busy. That's why I like to keep it lighthearted. Try focusing on meals you enjoy instead of stressing about every single calorie. It's about balance! And don't forget to reward yourself for progress, even if it's small.

100! Just gotta keep it simple sometimes. If you're feeling overwhelmed, try logging just one meal at a time until it feels more natural.

I hear you! I had a similar issue with my food tracker when I started. Have you thought about trying MyFitnessPal again? Yeah, the ads can be annoying, but I found their food database pretty comprehensive, and the community support is strong.

Nah, all these new apps make me skeptical too. I tried CalAI, and it was hot trash for my tracking needs. I ended up back on MFP just for the reliable food list, despite the ads.

I tried Lose It! too and the barcode scanner was a mess. I couldn't even log my favorite brand of almond milk! Maybe check out Cronometer? It has a more accurate food database, especially if you're into tracking micros. Plus, they have detailed nutrient breakdowns.

I mean, every app has its quirks. Just gotta find one that suits your flow. Remember, tracking doesn't need to be stressful! Keep it chill, and you'll find ur groove.

Exactly! Fitness should fit into your life, not the other way around. Life's too short to stress over every calorie. My kids keep me on my toes, and that's my workout sometimes!

Definitely feel you on that! If u're looking for a straightforward app, check out Yazio. They've got a decent database, and I found their user interface pretty friendly when I first started. Might be worth a look.
