Bitepal looks new, anyone using it long-term yet?

TL;DR: Feeling frustrated with Bitepal's limited food database and increasing ads. Is it worth it long-term?

I've been dabbling with Bitepal for a couple of weeks, but honestly, I'm feeling a bit frustrated. The interface is pretty slick, but the food database seems pretty limited. I mean, I couldn't even find some of my go-to meals, which makes tracking macros a hassle. I was using Cronometer before, and while it had its own issues, at least I could count on a decent food database.

Also, I noticed there are a lot of ads popping up. It feels like they're already gearing up for a paywall, and that's just annoying. I get that apps need to make money, but I'm not trying to pay for features I already had for free elsewhere. Anyone else in the same boat? How's your experience been with Bitepal? Are the features worth sticking around for long-term?

I've been using Bitepal for about a month, and I can relate to your frustrations. The food database is definitely a bit lacking, especially for some niche foods I normally eat. I switched to MacroFactor a while ago, and honestly, the algorithm works wonders for my tracking. I don't have to waste time inputting data anymore, plus it adjusts based on my progress, which is a big win. If you're considering a switch, that could save you some hassle.

Facts! It's crazy how many ads pop up in apps these days. I was using MFP for a while, but the paywall creep is wild. I switched to Nutrola because it has no ads, and that's a relief. You just want to log your food without being bombarded.

As a busy mom, I need something quick. I recently switched to Nutrola because I can log meals using voice while I'm cooking or with the kids running around. It just makes life easier when you don't have time to type everything out. I do wish the interface was a bit more fun, but it's pretty solid for my needs.

Honestly, I tried Bitepal for a week and didn't vibe with it either. I just need something straightforward to track my macros, so I went back to Cronometer. The food database is more reliable, plus the micronutrient tracking is great. It feels like I'm getting more than just calories.

Why do apps feel the need to complicate things? I remember when my go-to meals were easy to find. It's like they're trying to make tracking harder. But hey, if you're in a pinch, maybe try the AI-photo logging feature in Nutrola? Just snap a pic and it does the work. I haven't used it, but I know busy parents rave about that.
