MyFitnessPal just locked my barcode scanner behind a paywall, anyone else feeling this?

TL;DR: MyFitnessPal paywalled the barcode scanner, looking for alternatives or workarounds.

So I've been using MyFitnessPal to track my macros like a good bro for a while now, and outta nowhere they throw my barcode scanner behind a paywall. Like, c'mon man, that was one of the few features that actually made my life easier. I tried Yazio for a hot second, but that app just felt clunky, and I couldn't deal. Anyone else got hit with this nonsense, or is it just me? Got any workarounds or suggestions for other apps that don't charge me for basic shit?

bro, that's a major L. i just use MyFitnessPal for tracking, but I've heard MacroFactor is fire too. I think they even let you scan stuff. Try it out and see if it clicks for u!

Honestly, it's just a part of this digital age. If an app isn't working for you anymore, it might be worth it to experiment with a few others. It can be a real hassle, but think of it as a journey! You'll find the right fit eventually, just stay open to new experiences

OMG, I totally feel you! The barcode scanner was the best part, like how else am I supposed to track my protein bars so easily? Have you tried Cronometer? They have a lot of cool features and the food database is pretty solid. I just love their layout.

i get that it's frustrating when apps change their features. Maybe consider focusing on intuitive logging instead? Mindfulness can actually make tracking more enjoyable. Try to enjoy the process instead of letting the tech stress you out

facts, this is ridiculous. Paying for a barcode scanner is such a basic thing. Like, who even decided that was a premium feature? I guess they just wanna milk the cash cow.

i remember when apps like MFP were more straightforward. Now it's like every update is a money grab. Have you thought about manual tracking? It might take a bit more effort, but you'll get a better understanding of your nutrition. Plus, it builds discipline. I still track my meals with pen and paper sometimes, just to stay grounded.

You might want to check out Strong or Hevy for your lifting and tracking needs. They're both more affordable and have great features for keeping track of macros and workouts. I've had some success using both, and the community support is strong!

You know what slaps? Making your own protein smoothies! Just blend a scoop of whey, banana, oats, and milk. It's a game-changer and so much fun to track! Just don't forget to log the ingredients manually if u don't have a scanner.
