Why can't I find a protein cheesecake that actually tastes like cheesecake?

TL;DR: On a hunt for a protein cheesecake that actually tastes good, anyone have solid recipes?

I've been on a quest for the perfect protein cheesecake that doesn't taste like a protein shake gone wrong. You know what I mean, right? Those recipes that promise a creamy, dreamy cheesecake but end up tasting like cardboard mixed with regret. I mean, come on, I just want something delicious that also fits my post-WOD needs!

I've tried a bunch of recipes and variations, but most just end up being dense or overly sweet. I get that we're swapping out the cream cheese and sugar for protein powder and Greek yogurt, but why can't someone nail that flavor and texture?

If anyone has a killer protein cheesecake recipe that actually tastes like cheesecake (you know, the real deal), please share! I'm looking for something that stays high in protein and keeps the calories in check too, like under 200 kcal per slice. Let's make this happen, friends! If I can find the holy grail of protein cheesecake, my post-workout treat game will be on fire!

This thread is like a side quest in a game that needs a serious power-up. What if we just embraced the weirdness? Like, swap in some chocolate protein powder and make it a brownie cheesecake! The ultimate cheat code. Plus, more chocolate = less bad taste, right?

Facts! Protein cheesecake is basically the ultimate scam. Just make sure you add enough sugar-free chocolate chips, and maybe no one will notice. If they do, just tell them it's a 'unique' flavor!

Protein cheesecake sounds like a fun challenge! I really think it's all about texture. Try using a combo of cottage cheese and Greek yogurt to get that creamy vibe. Also, don't be afraid to add a bit of a thickener like cornstarch or gelatin to help with structure. You can do this, I believe in your cheesecake journey!

Protein cheesecake needs a serious upgrade. If you're still having trouble, consider investing in a food scale and measuring everything out. Sometimes, even slight variations can throw off the whole thing. And don't skimp on the vanilla, good vanilla can change the game completely. You might just find that perfect recipe yet!

OMG, I feel like I've tried every recipe on Pinterest, and they all sucked! I ended up making a crustless version with just Greek yogurt, protein powder, and a splash of almond milk. It was okay, but not amazing. I think the secret might be experimenting with flavors! Have you tried chocolate or maybe adding some peanut butter to the mix?

Balancing macros while keeping flavor is a real challenge! I've found that using a blend of protein powder and plain Greek yogurt works well. Don't forget to adjust your sweeteners and maybe even fold in some whipped egg whites for that light, airy texture. You could also experiment with different flavor extracts. For example, almond extract adds a nice twist without extra calories.

Yesss, i'm with you! Tried making one with like three different protein powders and it was a flop. But, I did find that adding some coffee or espresso powder helps to cut through that protein taste! It's like, super energizing too. My post-workout treat has turned into my caffeine fix 馃槀.

I think it's great that you're looking for a healthier dessert option, but don't stress too much about the macros! If you find a recipe that's delicious, enjoy it and savor every bite. Sometimes, it's okay to treat yourself, even if it's a bit higher in calories. Body positivity is all about enjoying food, after all.

Okay, but what if we just make protein pancakes instead? They're way easier and you can just stack them up with some yogurt on top. I've been having those for my post-WOD meals, and they taste like dessert without the hassle. Just a thought!

I totally get where you're coming from! The key is finding the right balance between protein powder and other ingredients. I like using a mix of Greek yogurt and silken tofu for that creamy texture without all the calories. Also, if you're aiming for under 200 kcal, using a lower-calorie sweetener can help cut the sugar while still making it taste legit. Have you tried mixing in some vanilla extract or lemon zest? Those flavors can help mask that protein powder taste a bit!

Dude, I feel you! I've had my fair share of protein cheesecakes that tasted like a sad science experiment. I ended up just eating my protein powder straight with a spoon to avoid that flavor. 馃槀 But seriously, I think part of the issue is that when you swap out the cream cheese, the fat content drops and it messes with the texture. Maybe try adding some coconut cream or a little almond flour to get that creaminess back?

Honestly, I've tried a few versions too and they always end up super dense or just weird. My go-to is a protein-packed no-bake cheesecake made with cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and a dash of vanilla extract. It's surprisingly good and stays around 180 calories per slice! If you try this, let me know how it turns out.

I can totally relate! My kids were skeptical of the protein cheesecake I made last week, but they ended up loving it! It was a mix of Greek yogurt, some low-fat cream cheese, and a hint of vanilla. Honestly, just be patient with the process, and keep experimenting. You might surprise yourself and create something amazing!

This is wild. Has anyone ever tried mixing in fruit purees? I saw a recipe once with raspberry that looked fire. But, like, why is it so hard to find one that tastes like cheesecake and not like a health food bar? I'm lowkey frustrated about this.

I hear you about those protein cheesecake disasters! I went plant-based a few years back, so I've been on a similar quest. My favorite recipe uses soaked cashews blended with a little maple syrup, lemon juice, and a plant-based protein powder. It gives you that creamy texture, and you won't even miss the dairy! Plus, the calories are pretty reasonable. Give it a shot if you're open to it
