Been lifting for 6 years but recovery's feeling like a soggy slice of pizza lately. Is a full body routine 3x a week too much for someone who can't bounce back like I used to? What do y'all think? Need some advice before I turn into a gym ghost.

Full body 3x a week can definitely work, but it heavily depends on your individual recovery ability and overall program design. Since you've been lifting for 6 years, you probably have a solid foundation, but if you're feeling like a soggy slice of pizza lately, it might be a sign to reevaluate your approach. Make sure your nutrition and sleep are on point because if you're not fueling properly or getting enough rest, even the best program won't help you recover.

Consider starting with a lower volume or frequency, maybe 2x a week, and see how your body responds. You could gradually increase the intensity and volume if your recovery improves. Also, implementing deload weeks or lighter sessions can help manage fatigue. Listen to your body; it will tell you what it needs. Don't hesitate to modify your workouts as you go along, and remember that training is a marathon, not a sprint.

Facts! You gotta fuel that recovery. If you're not loading up on protein, u're missing out! Try adding some protein pancakes or a post-workout shake with fairlife milk; it's low in sugar and high in protein. If you're struggling with DOMS, maybe a full body 3x a week could be too much right now. Your body might need more time to bounce back, bro.

If you're struggling to recover, maybe switching it up could help! I've found that mixing in some lighter runs or cardio days has really improved my recovery time. Plus, it keeps things fun and varied. Not every workout has to be a grind!

Yep, full body 3x can be too much if you're not recovering. You might want to dial it back to 2x a week for a while. If you're feeling off, your body's probably sending you a signal. A good test is to see how your lifts are doing; if your PRs are dropping, it's a sign to chill a bit. Just don't push it too hard, and you'll be back to smashing weights in no time!

I totally get where you're coming from! As a busy mom, I often feel like my recovery takes forever too. I used to do full body workouts 3x a week, but I found that I was feeling wiped out and my lifts were stalling. Now I alternate between full body and split routines, and that gives me a bit more breathing room. I still get to lift, but I don't feel like im dragging myself through every session.

Also, don't forget about those little things that can help with recovery, hydration, foam rolling, and even taking a walk can work wonders. I used to overlook those, but they really make a difference!
