**TL;DR:** Debating whether to lift or run first on the same day. What works best for you?

I'm a caffeine addict and a lifter who's been grinding for six years. Recently, I've been trying to balance running and lifting on the same day, and I'm not sure about the order. Should I hit the weights first or get my run in before lifting?

I've heard different opinions on this. Some say lifting first keeps your strength intact for those heavy lifts, while others swear by getting cardio done first for better endurance. I usually lift heavy and do some moderate distance runs, so I want to make sure I'm optimizing my performance. Anyone with experience on this? What's worked for you?

Why not do both? Lift first, then reward yourself with a nice run, maybe with a pizza at the end. Balance, my dude. 🍕

If you're lifting heavy, I'd say hit the weights first. You want to be fresh for those PRs, and lifting takes way more energy than running. Personally, I drink my pre-workout and crush a heavy upper body session before I run. That way, my muscles get the most out of the effort.

Lifting first is legit, but don't underestimate a solid pre-workout. Research suggests caffeine can boost ur performance. You might find that it helps to maintain energy for both lifting and running, especially on those hard days. Just be careful with dosages! Not everyone tolerates high amounts well.

Running sucks, bro. But if you're gonna do it, lifting first is the way to go. You'll want to keep your strength for those heavy deadlifts or squats. Running after is just torture when you're already gassed from lifting.

Honestly, I prefer running before lifting! It gets me in the zone, and I feel lighter for the lifts afterward. Just gotta make sure I'm not doing any long distances, or I'll be toast for the weights. A nice 20-30 minute jog does the trick for me!

There's actually some science behind this! Studies show that when endurance is prioritized before strength, your overall strength can take a hit. It's all about the intensity and duration of your run. If you're looking for those heavy lifts to stay strong, do the weights first and then use your run for active recovery in zone 2. That'll help maintain your aerobic base without crushing your strength.
