**TL;DR:** Are ATG split squats supposed to be this tough?

I thought I was ready for ATG split squats, but man, they are kicking my butt! 😅 I can barely get through a few reps without my quads screaming at me. Is this normal? Should I back off a bit or just keep pushing through? Any tips for making them easier would be super appreciated!

This is why I stick to running! 😂 But in all seriousness, the first time I tried them, I thought my legs were gonna give out. Definitely normal to feel challenged at first.

I completely agree with the mobility focus! Adding a few warm-up sets with bodyweight can help prep your muscles too. And if it feels overwhelming, try doing them on a decline. Give your body the time it needs to adapt.

Bro, ATG split squats are no joke. They hit hard, especially when you're not used to them. Just think of it like leg day, but with a side of crying.

You know, split squats can feel like a torture device if you're not used to them. The key is to focus on the range of motion rather than pushing through too much weight too soon. I had my own struggles with them, but adding a few mobility exercises helped a ton. Maybe try some hip flexor stretches before you start.

Honestly, ATG split squats can be brutal, but they're super effective for building strength and flexibility. If your quads are screaming, that just means they're waking up! Consider lowering the weight and focusing on form first.

Look, pushing through discomfort is one thing, but if you're feeling pain, it's time to check your form or back off. I've seen too many new lifters hurt themselves because they pushed too hard too soon. Listen to your body; it's a marathon, not a sprint.

For real, caffeine before a workout can give you that little boost! I usually have a cup before I hit those split squats. Just remember, don't overdo it, or you might be doing squats in the bathroom later

Facts! If you can't get through a few reps, try working on your flexibility and core strength first. Incorporating those elements can seriously improve your split squat game. Just don't skip leg day!

I started with ATG split squats and thought I was dying too. You might want to try doing them with your back foot elevated to make it a bit easier at first. Progress takes time, so don't rush it.
