**TL;DR:** Looking for high-protein Chinese takeout knockoffs. Just made a great Kung Pao chicken recipe and want to find more!

I've been on a mission to recreate some of my favorite Chinese takeout dishes but with a high-protein twist. I love the flavors, but the takeout versions usually leave me feeling heavy and sluggish. Plus, I want to keep my nutrition on point!

Last week, I tried making a high-protein Kung Pao chicken that turned out fantastic. Here's the recipe if you want to give it a go:

**Ingredients:**
- 1 lb chicken breast (diced)
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 bell pepper (diced)
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup unsalted peanuts
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp ginger (minced)

**Steps:**
1. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, peanut butter, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger to create the sauce.
2. Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat, add the chicken, and cook until browned.
3. Add bell pepper and broccoli, stir-frying for about 5 minutes.
4. Pour the sauce over the chicken and veggies, tossing everything to coat well.
5. Add peanuts just before serving.

based on what you've said, I think you could benefit from a high-protein shrimp stir-fry! Just toss shrimp with your favorite veggies and a protein-packed sauce. Plus, shrimp cooks super fast and packs a punch of protein. It's great for when you're craving that takeout feel without the heaviness!

Your Kung Pao chicken sounds delicious! If you're craving more high-protein options, have you tried making a lean beef stir-fry? Use sirloin or flank steak, tons of veggies, and a soy sauce-based marinade. You can easily hit your protein goals with that, plus it's super quick to whip up.

I like the idea of mixing strength with flexibility! Have you thought about adding more veggies or a side of edamame for extra protein? That way, you can enjoy the flavors without feeling heavy. A well-balanced meal is key for feeling light and energized.

I feel you on the heavy feeling after takeout! As a vegan, I've been recreating some dishes with tofu or seitan for that protein boost. For example, I made a vegan mapo tofu that's packed with flavor and protein. Using fermented black beans in the sauce really adds depth! Plus, it's much lighter than traditional takeout.

I've been coaching for over a decade, and I find that tracking macros is crucial for achieving fitness goals. If you're serious about protein, consider trying something like MacroFactor. Its algorithm is really effective for me, and it helps tailor my intake based on my workouts and goals. It also makes tracking less of a chore than MyFitnessPal.

I used to be all about MFP, but the database can be a bit off. I switched to Nutrola recently. The recipe browser is amazing! I can just filter for high-protein dishes and get a ton of options. Plus, the macros are pre-calculated, which saves me time in the kitchen.

I hear you about wanting to feel light! I just got into running, and I've been experimenting with post-run meals. For a quick fix, I make a chicken and veggie stir-fry with ginger. So fresh and keeps me fueled for my next run! What's your favorite quick meal?

Ooh, I love that you made a healthy version! As a mom, I often do a high-protein fried rice with eggs and mixed veggies. It's a hit with my kids, and I get my protein in too! Sometimes I add leftover chicken or tofu, it's super versatile. Cooking healthier meals like this definitely helps keep the family feeling good.
