So, I hit my one year lifting mark and honestly, it's been a wild ride. I started lifting to cope with some heavy depression and like, it wasn't always pretty. My lifts went from a sad 65 lbs on the deadlift to 155 lbs, but the mental battles were way tougher. Looking at my progress pics, I can see the gains but man, that emotional weight was real. Anyone else feel like the gym saved them in some way?

I relate so hard. I'm a working mom and lifting is my escape. Some days are tough, but I feel stronger mentally and physically after a good session. It's like lifting those weights clears my mind.

Finding balance is essential, especially when working through emotional challenges. Have you considered incorporating mindfulness practices into your routine? Breathing exercises or meditation can complement your lifting journey nicely. It's all about nurturing both body and mind.

Man, I get that. I started lifting after my divorce, and honestly, it helped me regain my confidence. I remember when I hit my first 225 lb squat. I felt like I could take on the world! It's all about those small victories, right?

Ngl, lifting is a mood booster for sure! Hitting a new PR is like a shot of dopamine. I remember the first time I hit a 300 lb deadlift, it was insane. Keep pushing ur limits, bro!

Facts. But don't forget about tracking those macros. It can really help you see what's working for you. I use Cronometer to stay on point. It's helped me understand how to fuel my lifts without guessing.

Ugh, I hate to break it to you, but counting macros is overrated. I tried that and it drove me crazy. Like, who wants to measure everything? Just find what works for you, u know? I do HIIT now and it feels way better without all the tracking.

100! Lifting has been my therapy too. I started with barely a 45 lb deadlift, and now I'm hitting 185 lbs. Honestly, the mental gains are even bigger than the physical ones.

It's great to hear that lifting has helped you through tough times! Remember, nutrition plays a huge role in your mental health too. Getting enough omega-3s and B vitamins can really help with mood regulation. Have you tried focusing on a balanced diet?
