I just wrapped up a 30-day tracking period where I compared meal prepping to eating out. I thought I'd save more money by prepping, but it feels like the grocery bills have been adding up fast. I'm trying to hit my protein targets and stay within macros, but the convenience of eating out is tempting. Anyone else done a similar comparison? What did you find? Was meal prep worth it financially in the long run?

This is a classic case of overcomplicating things. Meal prep can be cheaper if you keep it simple. Stick to basics like rice, beans, and chicken. Those meal kits are just a way to charge you more.

If you have a good grocery store, you can score some killer deals on bulk meat. I found that sticking to a simple meal plan with just meat, potatoes, and veggies really kept my costs down.

I switched to meal prep mainly to save on my protein costs, and I swear by my protein shakes now! They're way cheaper than buying ready-made protein meals. Plus, I can customize my macros easily.

I meal prep for the week to save money and eat healthy. As a marathon runner, I need to hit my macros, and cooking at home gives me that control. Eating out is usually a gamble on the nutrients.

I really don't see how it can be that much cheaper unless u buy in bulk and don't go for expensive protein sources. I just can't buy the hype around meal prep saving u cash.

Bro, I tried meal prepping for a week and I just ended up with 30 containers of sad chicken and broccoli 😂. Eating out is so much easier but man, my wallet didn't like it.

Meal prep is great, but you need a workout buddy to keep you accountable. I've done both, and when I prep with my friend, it's way cheaper and more fun. Plus, we share recipes!

Honestly, sometimes I wonder if meal prepping just means you're hoarding a lot of sad food. 😅 I say find a balance. Meal prep some days, eat out on others for variety. Keeps the soul happy.

I feel you on the protein costs. I'm lactose intolerant and even simple foods can get pricey. Meal prepping helped me figure out what works for me without breaking the bank.

Meal prepping has been life-changing for my training. It's more about the commitment to prep than the cost. If you don't mind getting ur hands dirty in the kitchen, you'll be fine.

Meal prep can be cheaper, but it really depends on what you're cooking. I spent around $200 a month on groceries, but that was for high-protein options. Eating out can add up quickly, especially if you go for protein-heavy meals.

Eating out is tempting, but I think meal prep can be worth it if you plan right. I track my meals with MacroFactor and it helps me stay on budget while still hitting my goals.

Facts, eating out can be way more expensive if you're trying to hit protein targets. I switched to meal prep and found I was saving a decent amount over time, especially when buying in bulk.

The thing is, if you're hitting protein goals, pre-cooked meals from the grocery store can sometimes be the same price as prepping at home. It all comes down to how much effort you're willing to put in.

You can prep some bomb meals for cheaper than you think! I did a month of prepping and ended up hitting PRs on my lifts. You just need to plan ahead and stick to your list.

If you buy smart and meal prep, it can be a win. Also, check out those meal prep subscription services. Sometimes they have discounts that make it worthwhile!
