As an RD with experience in PCOS, I've seen so many conflicting opinions about macros that actually work for managing symptoms and weight. It can be overwhelming for clients who are already juggling so much. From what I've observed, higher protein intake, moderate carbs, and healthy fats seem to be the sweet spot, but im curious about other strategies you all have found effective. What do your successful clients look like in terms of macro ratios? I'm trying to get a better handle on this for the busy moms I work with!

Why does everyone keep saying low-carb? It's not the only option, and it can lead to unhealthy habits. Not everyone needs to cut carbs, and for some, it can cause more issues. We should be focusing on overall health, not just numbers.

Higher protein, moderate carbs, and healthy fats is solid advice. Aiming for a 30/40/30 split usually yields good results. Just monitor those carbs, especially around workouts.

Form and consistency in exercise really matter too. Bodyweight workouts can be effective, and clients can build strength without stressing their bodies. Plus, they're easy to fit into a busy schedule

I've found that my clients with PCOS do better with a balance of macros rather than strict counting. Focusing on whole foods, like lean proteins and healthy fats, helps stabilize blood sugar levels. Busy moms appreciate easy meal prep ideas too.

I totally agree about the higher protein intake! It really helps with satiety and energy levels. Adding in some mindfulness practices, like yoga, can also help with overall stress management, which is crucial for PCOS

I've been tracking macros for a while, and I see great progress with a 40/30/30 split. It's really about finding what works for each client. Plus, I get to eat a ton of food!

Oh wow, that sounds delicious! I love a good breakfast, and protein pancakes are such a fun way to start the day. I also throw in some fruit for extra fiber and nutrients.

I've worked with many clients facing PCOS, and education is key. Teaching them about insulin resistance and how it affects weight can make a huge difference. It's not just about the food, it's about understanding their body's responses.

Some studies suggest that lower carb diets can be effective for weight loss in PCOS, but I worry about sustainability. Clients need to find a balance that doesn't leave them feeling deprived or overwhelmed. It's all about finding what suits their lifestyle

I'm just saying, sometimes it feels like we're all running around like headless chickens trying to figure out macros for PCOS. Just remember, it's all a learning process, and nobody has it all figured out! It's okay to mess up sometimes.

With my clients, I focus on a high protein intake, around 1.2 to 1.6 grams per kg of body weight. The combination of low GI carbs and healthy fats keeps insulin levels in check. It's important to personalize each plan based on their activity level and goals. I've seen significant improvements in energy levels and mood

Totally! I like to emphasize meal prep as a way to handle macros. I've been experimenting with protein pancakes and they're a hit with my clients. Just mix oats, eggs, and some protein powder, and they taste amazing!

It's fascinating how different macro ratios affect individuals! I often recommend incorporating supplements like inositol or omega-3s to help manage PCOS symptoms alongside diet. Research shows they can be beneficial.

Why did the chicken join a gym? To work on its pecks! 😂 But in all seriousness, keeping it lighthearted can help with the mental aspect of dieting. Laughter is a great stress reliever
