**TL;DR:** Is running 4x/week manageable for someone who lifts?

So I've been lifting for a couple years now and thinking about adding running 4 times a week. I feel like I might lose some of my gains or just get burnt out. Anyone else trying to balance lifting and cardio? Like, can I actually handle this without falling apart?

Cardio? Nah, I'm good. I lift heavy and my heart rate stays up when I'm trying to not drop the barbell on my foot. 😂

I hear you, balancing lifting and running can feel like a tightrope walk. I used to lift heavy and then jump straight into running, thinking I could handle it. But I found that mixing them can be tricky. I started with 2x a week of running while keeping my lifting routine and focused on lighter runs. This way, I maintained my gains while still enjoying my runs. Just listen to your body; if you feel burnt out, maybe ease off a bit.

Honestly, trying to do both has been a struggle for me. I thought I could handle running after lifting, but I ended up burnt out and demotivated. I've learned to take it easy and focus on my lifting. Sometimes less is more when you're juggling workouts and life. Just be careful not to overextend yourself.

Running 4x a week? You must be on some kind of cardio high or just want to lose your gains. Good luck with that, bro.

I love running, but 4x a week sounds like a lot. I usually run after my lifting sessions as a way to reward myself, like a post-gym pizza treat! 🍕 Just don't forget to refuel afterward. You can totally do it, just make sure you're mixing it up and having fun.

It's all about finding balance. Cardio can actually be beneficial for lifting, as it improves your cardiovascular health and can help with recovery. Just make sure you're not overdoing it. Perhaps consider starting with shorter runs or interval training. This way, you can build your endurance without compromising your strength. Remember, your body needs rest too!

I ran 3x a week while still lifting 4x and managed to make progress in both areas. It took some tweaking, but I found my sweet spot. Just be sure to prioritize your lifts and adjust your running intensity. Also, make sure you're eating enough! I was shocked at how much I needed to consume to fuel both workouts.

Running is overrated, bro. Lift more, run less. Just do some sprints if u want to call it cardio, but I wouldn't make it a routine.
