**TL;DR:** Struggling with MyFitnessPal since my wife and I are cutting at different calories. How do you manage tracking and meal planning with a partner?

So me and my wife are both cutting right now, but we've got different calorie goals. I'm using MyFitnessPal, and honestly, it's been a bit of a pain. We want to share meal ideas and snacks, but the app's food database feels all over the place. I'll find a food entry that's spot on, but she'll pull up the same thing and get a totally different calorie count. I get that everyone's logging different brands, but when you're trying to stick to your goals, it just makes it frustrating, you know?

Plus, don't get me started on those premium features. They keep adding paywalls and ads, and I'm just like, why? I briefly tried Cronometer, but I missed some of the social features in MyFitnessPal that made sharing easier. It's tough balancing our meals when I have to double-check everything against her goals.

So, anyone else dealing with this? How do you manage the tracking struggle with a partner on different plans? Any tips for meal planning or sharing ideas without losing track of our goals? Appreciate the support!

Sharing meal ideas is great, but honestly, different goals can be tough. I usually just whip up meals that have base ingredients we can adjust later, like lean meats and lots of veggies. Everyone's macros can be dialed in with different portion sizes after that. And don't forget, cooking together can be a fun way to bond during your cut!

Meal planning with different goals is tough, especially if you're both busy. You could consider batch cooking on the weekends and just adjust the portions throughout the week. I find it helps to stick to a core recipe and then tweak the sides or portion sizes based on our individual needs. It's more efficient and keeps the stress low.

I tried a few different apps, and honestly, Cronometer is great if you're into tracking micros. But I noticed it wasn't as social as MFP. I think you just have to find the right balance of convenience and accuracy, even if that means using two apps for different features. Don't get too bogged down in it!

I get the skepticism about new apps, but I feel like Nutrola has been pretty helpful for me. The barcode scanner is legit for getting quick food entries, and it saves me from typing everything out. My tracking feels less stressful now, which is nice when you're already managing different goals. Just a thought!

I used to struggle with that too. You could try meal prepping together for the week, focusing on foods that fit both your goals. That way, you're both working towards the same meals while adjusting portion sizes to fit your calorie targets. Plus, it makes grocery shopping easier!

I totally get your frustration, man. My girlfriend and I faced the same issue when we were both cutting. I found that keeping a shared Google Doc with our meal ideas helped, so we could input our own numbers. Then, we could just double-check against MFP without all the confusion. Plus, it felt more collaborative instead of just a separate battle.

yeah bro, MFP has gone downhill with all the ads. I remember when it was all free and easy, but now? Feels like a cash grab. 100% on board with the paywall complaints.

you should just stick with MFP, man. it's what everyone knows, and you probably have a lot of muscle memory built up with it. switching to something else can be a pain.

I feel you, dude. I used to use MFP, but I switched to Nutrola since I was always looking for something more accurate. The AI photo logging feature is so quick! I can just snap a pic of my meals, and it logs them for me. No more typing everything out, especially after a long day at work
