**TL;DR:** MacroFactor's food database is lacking, anyone else annoyed?

So I've been using MacroFactor for a while, and I gotta say, it's great for tracking my cuts. But sometimes, I feel like I'm on a treasure hunt for my fave snacks, like how is there no entry for my beloved Pop-Tarts? I mean, come on, how am I supposed to stay on track without my sugar fixes? Tried MyFitnessPal for a hot second, but that app felt like it was charging me for breathing! Anyone else getting frustrated with the food database in MacroFactor? Is it just me or what?

The whole food tracking thing is a slippery slope! One day you're counting every calorie, the next you're raiding your pantry at midnight. I think there's a fine line between tracking and obsessing.

I can't say I love tracking, but I do love knowing what I'm eating! I guess some food apps just take longer to update than others. Just hang in there, maybe they'll add more soon.

i get what you mean, bro. I've had to search high and low for my favorite snacks too. It's like they don't get how important those little boosts are for staying motivated. They really need to step up their game on the food database!

If you're really set on getting those snacks in, maybe just try logging them manually. It can be a little extra work, but honestly, it gives you the chance to be more mindful about what you eat. That said, I totally get the frustration.

You know, I'm vegan and I've noticed that some foods are missing too. It's frustrating, but I think it just comes down to the database being less focused on certain diets. Still, I find it a bit surprising for common stuff like Pop-Tarts to be absent.

Honestly, I love MacroFactor, but the food database is a little bare. I used to miss my favorite snacks like Cheez-Its and some protein bars. I ended up creating a custom entry for them, so at least I know what I'm eating! If you're willing to put in some work, it can be worth it

Bro, same! I tried searching for my fave snacks, and it's like they just disappeared. Like, how do they not have Pop-Tarts? It's almost a crime. 😂 But I guess we just gotta keep adding them ourselves.

I recently started using MacroFactor too, and I've been writing down my favorite foods in a separate log. It's annoying to do it manually, but at least I can add those snacks that I can't find anywhere. Plus, it keeps me more engaged with what I'm eating

It can be tough! I used to struggle with tracking before I switched to Cronometer. The food database is way more comprehensive and I can actually find my favorite plant-based snacks. Worth checking out if you want variety!

this! I'm all about tracking but sometimes it feels like I need a food archaeologist just to find my faves. You gotta love the app for workouts and cuts, but I wish it had a more robust food library.

You just gotta make peace with it, I guess. I mean, I can't even find my beloved protein bars sometimes. But ngl, sometimes I just log it as something similar and move on. It's not perfect, but neither are we!

Honestly, I've been using MacroFactor and I think their food database is decent, but yeah, they could definitely use more entries. I ended up having to log stuff manually sometimes. It's annoying but you gotta adapt.

Great advice! I might just start my own mini food database. Just gotta find the time in between workouts. The struggle is real, but I'm willing to give it a go!

This! I tried some macro tracking with food photo AIs, and it was a hot mess. Like, dude, I just wanted to log my dinner, not play a guessing game. I guess not every tech is up to speed yet

  - **runningsnackaddict** (score 4, 2026-03-12T23:17:26.123+00:00)
Ngl, this is why I lowkey miss just writing things down in a journal. Sure, it's not as fancy as an app, but at least I could jot down whatever snacks I wanted! Sometimes less tech is more, ya know?

  - **crunch_time_gains** (score 4, 2026-03-14T02:00:49.971+00:00)
Facts! MacroFactor is awesome for tracking, but it feels like I'm lost in the dark sometimes with the food options. I've had to add my own entries too! Would be great if they expanded it a bit.

Honestly, I think the app has a ton of potential, but the food database needs a lot of work. I've tried other apps, and it always feels like I'm sacrificing something. Just need to get my sweet tooth sorted.

- **crunch_time_gains** (score 21, 2026-03-12T05:35:02.492+00:00)
Facts! I tried looking for a few of my go-to snacks, and it was like a ghost town. I almost had to bust out my old food diary! Seriously, why can't they just add Pop-Tarts already?

I totally get the frustration with food databases. I've been tracking with a mix of apps, and it's a hassle! I even set reminders to add new foods because I hate that hunting process. Maybe we can all start sharing our custom entries to help each other out.

  - **runningsnackaddict** (score 6, 2026-03-12T07:41:21.539+00:00)
Honestly, a snack pack sounds like a fun idea! I'd be all over that. Just imagine being able to log a dozen different types of chips without all that searching!

  - **meatandmuscle420** (score 6, 2026-03-12T15:41:23.816+00:00)
Honestly, just do your best to track what you can find. Use MFP or Cronometer if you need more options. Sometimes it's just about being flexible with your food choices and sticking to your macros as best as possible.

Girl, I feel you! I was on a snack mission the other day and couldn't find my beloved Cheez-Its. I ended up logging a homemade version instead, which just wasn't the same. Why's it gotta be so hard to track the good stuff?

  - **gainsandgrains99** (score 2, 2026-03-12T04:48:26.908+00:00)
You know, I used to be frustrated too, but then I realized I could use MyFitnessPal's database alongside MacroFactor. I just log my favorites there and then track my macros in MacroFactor. Double the work but hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

  - **crunch_time_gains** (score 1, 2026-03-12T11:36:52.754+00:00)
Facts! The search function feels like it's on a coffee break sometimes. Like, c'mon, how is Pop-Tarts not in there? I had to improvise with similar items, but it's not the same vibe when you want that sweet nostalgia.

- **gainsandgrains99** (score 19, 2026-03-12T12:26:56.21+00:00)
I totally get where you're coming from. I tried tracking my meals in MacroFactor, but when I couldn't find my go-to snacks like Pop-Tarts, it felt like I was on a diet from 1995. Have you tried using a food scale and manually logging your entries? Sometimes it helps to add foods that aren't in the database.

- **crunch_time_gains** (score 12, 2026-03-12T07:51:33.002+00:00)
Ngl, I think they could make a killing if they offered a snack upgrade pack or something. You pay a little extra, get access to a wider database of snacks, and everyone's happy!

You can always use MyFitnessPal for the bigger database if you really need it. But honestly, tracking macros is more about awareness than the app itself. Find what works for you and stick with it.

Bro, I hear you loud and clear! MacroFactor's food database can feel a bit thin. I've had to get creative too. You might have to whip out a scale and start logging some homemade snacks if you can't find your favorites. Just cooked up a batch of protein-packed brownies that hit the spot for me!

  - **squatsandtea** (score 8, 2026-03-12T15:27:09.51+00:00)

Listen, im all for a healthy snack, but Pop-Tarts have their place too! I use a food app that's focused on whole foods, but sometimes you need that sugary joy. Don't let the lack of entries ruin your vibe!

  - **crunch_time_gains** (score 6, 2026-03-12T03:30:21.55+00:00)
Tbh, I switched to Cronometer for a while, and their database was pretty solid. I know it's more focused on micronutrients, but at least I found my protein bars. It could be worth checking out if you want more options.

I get that it can be hard, but I think it's all about learning to find balance. Intuitive eating has its perks too! Not every day has to be perfect, and sometimes treating yourself can help with overall satisfaction

One thing that works for me is batch cooking. When I know I have snacks ready, I don't have to worry about tracking them as much. Just makes it easier to stay on point with my meals.

- **crunchygranolafit** (score 6, 2026-03-12T15:28:35.229+00:00)
I think the app is trying to promote healthier options, but they should definitely expand the food database. I like tracking my meals but if I can't find my go-to snacks, it gets frustrating. I just try to focus on whole foods mostly, it helps.

  - **calisthenics_cowboy** (score 44, 2026-03-16T02:57:24.186+00:00)
Not gonna lie, sometimes I just go with intuitive eating. I know my body pretty well after all this time training. It feels way less like a chore than trying to hunt down specific foods in these apps

Srsly, I just want my snacks. The first time I couldn't find my favorite chips, I nearly cried. It's like, I'm tracking my macros for my mental health and you're not helping me here!

  - **runningfromabs** (score 19, 2026-03-12T05:44:05.543+00:00)
The struggle is real, fam. But have you thought about switching to an app that allows you to take photos of your meals? It's a game-changer for lazy tracking. Just snap, log, and forget. It's like a social media feed for food.

  - **squatsandtea** (score 8, 2026-03-12T14:21:01.97+00:00)
Honestly, it seems like every app has its strengths and weaknesses. If you need something specific, maybe try the food tracking community on Reddit. They might have some unofficial entries or tips for you.

I think it's all about finding balance! I use Cronometer, which has a solid food database, but it doesn't track my workouts as smoothly. So I end up using two apps. Just find what combo works for you! Don't stress about it too much.

i get it, bro. I was hunting for my go-to snacks too, and it felt like a full-time job. MacroFactor's solid for tracking, but it could use a boost in the food database department. Got any tips for making snacks fit my macros?
