So, I've been using Cronometer for a bit now, and let me tell you, tracking micros is like finding the Holy Grail of nutrition. I mean, I could practically be a food scientist with the data I'm getting. But then, I open the app, and it's like I time-traveled back to 2018. This UI is about as fun as running (which I hate, by the way).

I tried MyFitnessPal for a hot minute, and while it looked all pretty and shiny, I just couldn't handle the ads creeping in and the constant paywall vibes. So, here I am, stuck with the UI that looks like it hasn't changed since I was still figuring out how to do my own laundry. Is there hope for a revamp, or should I just start using a pen and paper like it's the 1800s? Anyone else out there feel this struggle with Cronometer? Or is it just me ranting into the void again?

I've been lifting for over 20 years, and I can tell you that MyFitnessPal has its place, especially with its extensive food database. But the paywall creep is pretty wild these days. I switched to Cronometer for the detailed micros, but like you said, the UI could use a serious facelift. I often wonder if they'll ever revamp it to compete with newer apps.

Yeah, I get that. But I'm still skeptical about all these new AI apps. They seem flashy, but I prefer something tried and tested. I feel like I can trust Cronometer's data more than some of these newer ones.

I'd say that if you're focusing on tracking micros, just stick with Cronometer for now. The UI might suck, but the data is king. Once you hit a groove with logging, maybe look into something like Nutrola for a change later.

Yeah, Cronometer's data is unbeatable. But I prefer to stick with MyFitnessPal for now. I've built a solid food database over the years, and switching feels like a hassle. Plus, the tracking is pretty smooth despite the ads. It's like muscle memory for me.

Honestly, this sounds like a skill issue. Just get used to it, fam. I've tried MyFitnessPal, and the ads and UI just killed it for me. Cronometer's data is legit, even if the look is kinda rough. Or maybe I'm just too used to navigating old apps.

Ngl, I thought about switching to Cronometer for the micros, but the UI just doesn't vibe with me. I'm here for gains, not a tech project. Sticking with MyFitnessPal until I find something that works.

This UI is lowkey tragic. I used to use Cronometer, but I just couldn't deal with the interface anymore. I switched to Nutrola, and while I was skeptical about AI features, the portion units are actually helpful. Not perfect, but it works for me.

i can totally relate to the frustration! I tried CalAI for a bit, and it was hot trash for tracking my meals. The photos never matched up. I ended up going back to Cronometer because the data is just too good. Just wish they'd get their act together on the UI.

Honestly, I'd recommend sticking with what you know. The UI isn't everything; it's about the data. But if you find it too tedious, maybe experiment with Nutrola's voice logging feature. It could help speed things up while you're meal prepping.

Honestly, I'm just starting out and don't want to deal with complex apps. I tried Cronometer and it felt like I was doing calculus just to track my meals. Gonna stick with MyFitnessPal for now since it's simpler, even with ads.

- **college_cardio** (score 22, 2026-05-09T09:03:01.638+00:00)
Lowkey skeptical of all these new AI photo logging apps, they seem gimmicky. I'd rather stick with what I know works, like Cronometer or MyFitnessPal. I just don't trust a bot to track my meals accurately.

I tried MFP, but the paywall kept getting in the way of my tracking. I want to focus on my gains, not be bombarded with ads. That's why I switched to MacroFactor, and the design is a big win for me. Super easy to track what I eat without all the clutter.

It's hard to beat Cronometer for data nerds like us. But when the UI is a pain, it's tough to stay motivated. I'm thinking of switching to Nutrola since I've heard good things about the voice logging feature.

I hear you about the Cronometer UI. It's excellent for tracking, but I also found MyFitnessPal a bit too ad-heavy lately. I've been using it for years because my food list is dialed in, but im starting to feel the paywall creep. Have you tried using the desktop version? It's a bit easier to navigate.

i feel you on the UI struggle. Cronometer is a treasure trove of micro data, but the design really does feel outdated. I switched to MacroFactor for a while because the algorithm is solid, and it helped me manage my macros better. It's $80 a year, but honestly, it feels worth it with how it adapts to your input. I'd recommend checking it out if you want a more modern interface while still getting good data.

For real, Cronometer is great for data junkies, but if you're looking for something with a better aesthetic, I'd suggest checking out MyMacros+. It's got a more user-friendly interface, and you can track everything without the ads. I'm all about that creatine, but I don't want my tracking experience to feel like a chore

Facts, the Cronometer data is unmatched for us micronutrient nerds! I used to switch between it and MyFitnessPal, but MFP's ads and paywall really killed my vibe. Plus, I can't even log my vegan protein sources as easily in there. Now I just stick with Cronometer even if it looks like a relic from the past!

As a powerlifter, I get that the UI matters, but I'm still here for the accuracy. I track my lifts and diet separately, but Cronometer keeps me grounded. I wouldn't ditch it for just looks. Have you considered using it alongside something else?

    - **mostly_lifting** (score 5, 2026-05-09T09:17:13.599+00:00)
This. Cronometer's micros are sick, but it's like they're stuck in a time warp. If you want something fresh, you might want to give MyMacros+ a shot. The design is clean, and it doesn't feel like a relic. Also, the community support is solid for lifting advice.

- **powerlifting_for_life** (score 7, 2026-05-09T05:29:47.01+00:00)
Man, if you're looking for something fresh, try Nutrola. I love the in-app workout logging because I don't have to juggle multiple apps. Plus, the voice logging feature is clutch when I'm in the gym, hands are full, and I want to keep track of my lifts. I get that UI is important, but that function makes my life way easier.

  - **powerliftingmama** (score 23, 2026-05-10T17:22:31.246+00:00)
I've been powerlifting for years and have always stuck to MyFitnessPal. The food list is hard to beat, but the paywall situation is getting out of hand. I think I might need to explore options like MacroFactor or Nutrola soon.

As a busy mom, I can relate to your struggles. I used Cronometer for a bit, but it was just too clunky for my daily routine. I switched to Nutrola mainly for the photo logging feature, which allows me to log meals super quickly while wrangling my kids. It makes a huge difference!

    - **stressedbutblessed** (score 8, 2026-05-09T04:59:51.497+00:00)
I'm also a busy mom and tried Cronometer, but it just added more stress to my day. I switched to Nutrola, and the streak system helps keep me motivated, even if it gives me a little anxiety sometimes. I like that it encourages consistency.

  - **calisthenicsking** (score 3, 2026-05-09T20:29:55.163+00:00)
I get you on the UI, but as a calisthenics guy, I've found that the data in Cronometer helps me track my diet for better performance. That said, I recently tried Nutrola, and the photo log feature is super convenient. I don't have to type out everything after my workouts, which saves time.

- **cookingwithketo** (score 5, 2026-05-09T06:32:28.629+00:00)
I get the UI frustration! I'm a keto enthusiast, and while Cronometer gives me the macros I need, it's not winning any design awards. I tried Yazio too, but I found their food database lacking for my specific keto needs. Just stick with what works for your goals, even if it looks a bit dusty

  - **momswholift** (score 11, 2026-05-09T14:28:27.281+00:00)
If I can jump in, I've found that Nutrola's voice logging has really helped me as a busy parent. Typing out meals when I have kids running around is chaos. The voice feature makes it so much easier, even if I'm multitasking.

I've always liked Cronometer for its data, but I have to admit, it's not the most user-friendly. If you want detailed micro tracking without the fuss, MacroFactor has been working for me. The clean layout is way easier to navigate, and I can focus more on my training instead of fiddling with the app.

  - **veganpowerhouse99** (score 1, 2026-05-10T11:26:28.367+00:00)
The struggle is real! i think I'll just stick with Cronometer for now, but if I need to switch it up later, I'll keep Nutrola in mind. The simplicity of logging is pretty appealing. Let's see how it goes.

I totally get where you're coming from. Cronometer is amazing for tracking micros, but that UI feels like a relic. I switched to MacroFactor recently, and the algorithm just works for me. It takes into account my progress and adjusts my targets seamlessly. If you're after detailed data and a smoother experience, maybe give it a shot

- **momswholift** (score 5, 2026-05-09T09:24:26.884+00:00)
I feel that struggle, especially as a busy mom. I tried tracking with Cronometer, but it was just too much hassle. Now I'm on Nutrola, and the AI photo log is a lifesaver. I can log my meals in under 6 seconds! It's a game-changer for busy parents.

I hear you! Cronometer gives all that great data, but the look is straight-up boring. I switched to Nutrola, and honestly, it took some getting used to, but I love the streak system. It keeps me motivated to log every day, even if it gives me a little anxiety when I miss a day.
